Attorney Ed Masry and assistant Erin Brockovich have sued on behalf of 19 former Beverly Hills HIgh School students alleging that exposure to toxic chemicals (incl. benzene, toluene, methane) from on-campus oil and gas production facilitiies caused Hodgkin's disease and other cancers. An oil derrick has operated at the campus since the 1950s. Of the 38 oil and natural gas wells, 19 are currently active. Their air quality testing found high levels of the aforementioned chemicals, but (stangely) tests conducted by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (only in California's bloated bureacracy
