Please tell me I'm not the only one desperately wanting to play this game!
Okay, fanboyisms aside, it's a new single player game with MMO online capability (kind of like the old Diablo system)...to be released this summer. None of my friends seem as pumped about it as I am...but let's face it. Mowing down demons with magic-imbued machine guns and holy grenades seems darn cool to me. So, anyone else thinking about playing it? I've told myself I'm not going to play WOW again in lieu of this...I hope I'm right in the one I'll like more.

This game look really really great. There's only one problem. Last I heard they were planning to have a monthly fee. This does not seem like the kind the game that should have one.

Looks cool, I might try it. Since I don't have any games to play lately. Apart from wow...

I will probably get this game depending alot on how things finally come out in the end:
* Will it be Vista exclusive? * Will it demand DX 10, and how well will it play with DX 9 etc? * How will the monthly fee be implemented? Too many if's and but's here about how it is to work online. I heard that basic online play shall be free but for upgrades, extrtas etc there will be a fee. I hate episodic stupidity and pay more for less games as it is already so if this game is going for elite players vs lawnmover players... BAH! * How big and how replayable will the single player mode be? This is the biggest issue for me since I don't play that much online. Otherwise, yes it looks cool as heck and since they anounced that closecombat will be in 3rd person mode, I reallt started to look forward to this game more then before. It's Blizzaresque videos for one is really nice so some randomized demon hunting would sit really nice. Biggest competitor? Its a whisper, its a rumour and its about Diablo 3 ...

Yeah, I second all that. A few points, though...one of the dev's posted on the official H:L forums that the game runs fine on his laptop, as well as his x800 ati card at home...so, I don't think the system requirements will be as high as many people are saying they will be...
I'm also sure that it will look fine in direct x 9. Vista exclusive would be Microsoft's dream, I'm sure, but I can't see it happening. It's the last two bullets I wonder about.

Three with two specialization/subclasses each.
It's a skill tree system, though, so there is supposed to be a lot of customization... Also, you can customize your own armor and weapons with enhancement/modifications, which I have read allows for quite a bit of customization as well. It seems minimalist at first, but then, once you read more, you see that there's a lot of individuality to put into your characters.

Not really. It has elements, but, what game doesn't these days? That's kind of like blaming Gears of War for the faults of Goldeneye.
Made by a lot of the same production team, though. Plus, is it really a problem if a game is "like Diablo?" But really, it must be said that this game will only represent an echo of what Diablo was.
