As the title says. Please also state what type of penalties you would like.

EG. XP penalty of 1000 XP if you die and loose 5000 gold.

Public be-headings or hangings!

Now that Waterdeep is open, we should have some public hangings!

Wait? You mean there are currently no penalties?

Everytimes I respawned I thought I lost 500xp/level and 10% gold!

I don't believe it would be a good idea as long as you respawn where you fell, with all the nasty monsters who cut you up waiting to do it again.

What he said, but, with that being said, I did vote yes. I had to respawn like 20 times in a row last night, if I were respawning where I fell, I'd have gone back to lvl 5 or something. I'm thinking you can set the penalty up so that it can't take you past the last lvl you gained. That would be the way to go, and use the default system. Be a lot less respawning that way. I know I'm not used to hitting the respawn button so much, because we not only lose xp/gold, *which we aren't right now, because it's broken* we also go to our respective death places??, Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell. From there you speak to an avatar, and are sent back to the main hub town. The reason we don't have to respawn, is that we party up, and have emote wands that allow you to go to party leader, if one of the party members dies, we make him/her leader, jump to em, and res em. We also have a map that allows us to set one home point, which we can jump to at will, so we can always get back where we were. *Unless you forget to set your point before you go rescue some one. No names here, please.* ops:

Isn't that already the case? I've never lost a level due to dying. I also voted in favor of Penalties, as it will discourage people from using Diablo style grinding-and-solo tactics.

I was hoping NWN would give you either an option to rez back in town for free, or an option to raise on the spot for the default penalties.

I agree with Legolas and robertthebard - unless you change the respawn procedure, penalties are just heaping insult onto injury.
