Just a question, because I can't seem to find the info anywhere in game:

What exactly does the Slayer change do for the PC? Is s/he much stronger?

It depends on your stats and your class. If you are a spell caster, it is going to help you become more efficient in battle. If you are a fighter with high constitution, it might end up making you lose HP instead of gaining HP. I personally never use it because I seem to be stronger in my normal state.

***The Slayer has 25 STR, DEX, and CON, and is in a berserk state which prevents stun, hold, imprisonment, and a few other things. However, if the PC stays as the slayer too long, he/she will take damage until death. The message screen will warn you if you've stayed as the slayer too long. There are a few situations in the game where being the Slayer might be helpful, but not necessary. I've played several games where the PC didn't have to turn into the Slayer.***
