Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
I'm guessing it's Blake's 7. Of course, this guess is based purely on the information that there are 7 crewmen on the ship and the name of the show. Unfortunately, I haven't actually seen it, although I really like the idea behind it.

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
OK, the show was Blakes 7, and it was Orac who took control of the Liberator just to look at a passing black hole.
New Question, a certian Doctor has a dog, what model / version is the latest one we see?

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
The outline for Blakes 7 sounds great. Is it any good? What other shows could I compare it to?

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
I really like Blakes 7, even thought it was filmed 1978-82 I think, with bad sets and fx's much like Doctor Who of the same time. It was great, with some very good and powerful characters, epically in Avon - a great Anti-Hero. They tried to kill it several times (after 2 years when Blake left, When they destroyed the Liberator and finally everyone had to be killed in season 4!) but it managed to last a while longer.
Now the Sci-fi channel have done a re-mastered (??) radio version, can listen to it here http://www.scifi.co.uk/blakes7/ I’ve only listened to most of the first story. I would say the closet ‘modern day’ sci-fi would be Farscape…

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
That certain Doctor... seems to me that K-9 is the last model I remember. Is that still the current one?

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
Well K-9 mark 3 gets destroyed in the episode School Reunion, but as the TARDIS disappears there is a new K-9 left there, K-9 mark 4.
Shall I post another or do you want to?

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
I dunno... my head is dusty enough that I forgot about the different models of K-9.
In any case, I'll toss one out that goes back... way back... back to 2001: A Space Odyssey. A two parter, if you will. The villain in that book and movie is the sentient computer, HAL. The questions... 1. What does HAL stand for? 2. What does it *supposedly* stand for?

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
HAL...I'm sure there was a 9000 somewhere in there, short of looking it up in the book I've no idea what it really means.
I sort of remember something about HAL being 1 letter away from a certain big computer company, but nothing else.

Re: Trivia: Sci-Fi
You've got it half-right... one letter away from IBM. The other part....?
