I'm doing the cult of the eyeless mission. On one part you have to cross a bridge. The annoying thing is on the other side are three of those beholder thingys. I've done this part of the game before without trouble but this time I cant kill them. I'm sure iv'e thrown everything at them. I dont have cloudkill so I cant cheat like that. It's annoying because I have a better party this time than I did before. I dont have the cloak of mirroring. Any suggestions?
Oh yeah are there any better axes than these: Stonefire +3 +2 fire Damage Frostbalde +3 +1 Acid +1 Frost damage My ranger wields these two at the same time and kicks ass, but surely theres some better axes than those. as to the fight, did you try to distract them w/ summoned monsters?
you may be able to get them to chase you one at a time over the bridge. and the bonus merchant shield you can download form most bg2 sites. |

My favorite axe is Azure's Edge(?). You can throw it also. The only bad part is you can't dual wield another weapon while using it.

Ehm.. i did the Unseeying Eye quest (didn't finish it cos of a bug; the Emph. Manif. disappeared suddenly) I killed those beholders (i thought it was only one, but OK) with a couple of fireballs. Cheesy? Maybe.. Smart?? I think so, seeing all the difficult solutions given here..

Light flashes as his sword comes down, and thunder rolls through the sky when he points his sword up to heaven to signal his victory....People whisper his name as he walks by, evil tries to hide as they sense his presence nearby.... His name? Link...... |

Spoiler:
* * * * * * * * I found that fire elementals worked wonders.. At that time my druid was lvl. 12 while the rest of the party was 9-10.. At lvl. 12 she was able to summon two fire elementals, and they could easily take out the three mini-beholders (can't remember the name right now).. And don't worry about the pack of Shadow's further up the stairs, their attack couldn't harm the fire elementals.. If you haven't got any fire elementals try flooding them with lots of small ones, as mentioned above.. Just make sure you are out of sight, since they will start casting their "harm-attack" at you immediately.. |

There's Rifthome +3 for an axe. It can be thrown or used in melee.
Azuredge is good, but only good-aligned characters can use it. There is also Hangard's axe +2 which you can throw...I think that one is in the sewers. ------------------ Now where did I leave that doughnut?! |

Number/type of beholders changes according to the level of the char/party. Does this in alot of places...it isn't so bad until you swagger into a certain dungeon expecting half a dozen skeleton warriors and find half a dozen powerful liches, all with bodyguards.

Woopdidoo, you got extacly the same pc as me (or the other way around!), ranger dual weelding axe: Stonefire +3 +2 fire Damage, Frostbalde +3 +1 Acid +1 Frost damage: but enough of that. I also really would like to see a +4 axe, to take out kangaxx for example! But í'm afraid I haven't found any yet and I don't think it will be.
spoiler ahead About that unseeing eye quest; if you give the important thingy (what was it already!)before you enter the pit and than go straight in the put, destroy the unseeing eye (and get the necklace +5 mag res) and walkout there is another (read: the same) unseeing eye waiting. So destroy him, what will be some trickier though, and get yet another necklace. + Carl Cox kicks ass + |
