America is a good place to my opinion since I've lived here all my life, it's just how people act that kind of irritates me from time to time. People here act as if they have no common sense and go out of their way to humiliate someone, oddly. Only other bad thing here is probably the television. What I mean by that is, fact is, over half of the country is overweight and they have all these skinny people and body builders on tv which drive a lot of people to be bulimic or anorexic.

That's my 2 cents.

"What is America?"

Isn't it that big funny shaped piece of land over that way?

My honest opinion of America, even though it could be a great country, is most people think that it is the place to come to escape a bad country, which would be good, if we had room for more people. We have freedom, yes, but we also have laws restricting that freedom. and sometimes, not all the time, the Police get carried away with their enforcement of the laws. It is a wonderful country, but it is also just like any other country, we have our problems, and some times, we have crazy people in the white house anyway, I will shut up now, no one feels like listening to my rants

Thats a good way to describe many countries.

America is kinda of misleading, how about US, its not like theres no south american countries or canada.
yes... it can be used to describe many countries, but I'm using it to describe the USA... so whats your point? Should I have given him my opinion on every country in the world?

Also you should read the first post again...

Quote:
...out what do you think about America (U.S.A.).
I think he was asking about the U.S.A and the last time I checked thats was the United States of America and it's not like that is South America... or Canada...
He simply said, what do you think about america. America is two continents with more than one country in each.

Second, i was making a observation on your posting of a good country run by bad people, nothing more than that.

Did you not see the letters behind the word America?

Go back and look at his post really hard... it definetly says U.S.A.

Or am I starting to see letters again?

When asking about the country America does anyone really confuse the country America with the American continents? Really?

Somewhere, some time, some how is someone actually confusing a reference to the country of America with Peru? Venezuela? Mexico? Canada? Brazil? Nicaragua? Costa Rica? Panama? Colombia? Guyana? Suriname? French Guiana? Ecuador? Bolivia? Chile? Paraguay? Argentina? Uruguay? Cuba? Haiti? Dominican Republic? Trinidad and Tobago? Grenada? Barbados? Bahamas?

The USA is the United States of America, so is it so ridiculous to think that a reference to America, the country, is a reference to the USA?

How anal is a complaint about the difference between the names, The United States of America and just that of America when every single person knows EXACTLY what is meant?

QUALIFIER - To those whose country's name I've skipped or misspelled, I apologize.

Ronn_Bman has a point there. The U.S.A. is commonly refered to simply as America, and the citizens are refered to as Americans. Canada has it's Canadians, and Peru it's Peruvians. Cuba has Cubans. U.S.A. has American's. (Not that it's fair for us to monopolize on the name of the entire continent, but let's face it, there are very few other countries that can be so full of themselves and still survive )

The only thing that bothers me about USA is their patriotism. I mean patriotism is one thing, this is obsession. I am not going to go into detail about this, because I don't think I could predict every possible meaning of the words I post.

I think I know what you mean Bozos. I forget the word for it but it means patriotism to a fault or extreme.
