If you live in the US (and maybe other areas) go outside NOW and look at the sky to the north, see if you can see the Northern Lights! We just had one of the largest Coronal Mass Ejections from the Sun (HUGE Solar flair) and people have been seeing it as far south as Nevada!!

Reports Please! Anyone! (Also, when it's night tomorrow)

PS: I am in Florida, and its cloudy..

Damn, dude! I'm kind of too far south. I DID see Mir's final orbit the night before she came home though.

Hi Ziroc!

Ha, I knew that what the red sky was! I just got back from the mountains where I saw it, for the first time in my life! One friend thought it was a forest fire, the other thought it was Anthrax poison bombing.

I kept saying "its the Northern Lights - aka Aurora Borealis"...but they didn't listen to me.

For the record, I live one hour north of San Franciso in California, and I was only 30 min east of here.....so I bet you can see it EVERYWHERE.

Definitely cool....wish I had a camera!

CNN has a story on it:

http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/space/0...ity/index.html

Read it, amazing stuff. This ONE Solar burst had more power in it than ALL the power we have used on planet earth EVER! amazing...

Anyone else see the Northern Lights yet? (Happens tomorrow too) Bump this every so often till Monday Night EST
