Obviously these people don't believe in coincidences. people in general really need to take a breather sometimes, sounds like you all agree?
On a different note...I don't worship Satan I worship Zeppelin, they're much more laid back. [ 01-08-2005, 08:49 PM: Message edited by: spydar ]

Led Zeppelin has been my favorite band since I was introduced to them, which was in the late 80's. I heard about this ":playing the song backwards" thing even then, and a few friends and I tried it on an old record.
Not only did we start to ruin the record, but all came to the conclusion that a) it's a stretch to hear these words and b) Jimmy Page was probably just having some fun. Jimmy Page had been rumored to be into the occult for many years, and was probably just playing a joke. I doubt he's a Satan worshipper.

I thought that trick only worked with Black Sabbath. I heard somehwere that the idea to play music backwards was started by a conspiracy theorist who said he saw it in a dream or something along that line.

Well, it doesn't bother me, it's a teriffic song, even if that was intended and did actually mean something it doesn't bother me.

Bah, all of this stuff is old hat.
I have a hilarious book on the subject called "The Devil's Disciples" written by a born again christian on a crusade to end the so called evil influences of rock n roll, specifically metal. As a wee lad, I found the themes fascinating yet the pontificating christian parts amused me greatly. There's a whole chapter dedicated to all kinds of backmasking messages in it. The Beatles' most famous example would be from the White LP's Revolution 9. "Turn me on Dead man", all a part of the whole 'Paul is dead' joke. Regarding Led Zeppelin - if you're a fan and are skeptical about the satanic influence, it should be duly noted that Jimmy Page was highly influenced by Aleister Crowley, one of the most infamous of satanists. Its all rather amusing though.... As Slayer might say: Satan.Laughs.As.You.Eternally.Rot.
