what is a stronghold? i own Nalias keep, does that count? what does a stronhold do? how do i get one?

If you have Nalias keep then you must be a fighter thusly that is your stronghold

To elaborate, a stronghold is a "home" for the protagonist (your character) different classes get different strongholds i.e. druids get the druid grove, mages get the planar sphere, thieves get the thieves guild and so on... Each stronghold offers you different quests and rewards, adds a bit of variety as far as replaying the game is concerned.

What about monks? I only got nalias stronghold? are they consideried fighter types as well?

stronghold decisions can be tough sometimes, ESPECIALLY the bard stronghold. for a little bit (not too much, i hope) of help, go to the Universal Hint System and check out the strongholds. its the only stronghold walkthrough i have seen, and it doesn't spoil you upfront like most other walkthroughs do. you should at least see it, and so should everyone, including experienced gamers who think they know everything.
