Hopefully, a few more fun things happen along the way too

LOL Cloudy! Actually, I'm expecting lots of "my bottom hurts" and "can I have a drink?"

And thanks, Stormy. I've been down there a couple of times, but it's been almost fifteen years since the last one, I think. I plan to relax...

Good luck B, I did a road trip with my little ones about a month or so ago and it went resonably well. Ages 9, 2, and 1 all got along well. Drove for 10+ hours on the first night until my 2 year old got tired of being confined to her car seat and threw a major tantrum, in which it upset my 1 year old son so much he started to hyper ventilate so that ended the first days travels. Day 2 went much better for the remaining 8 hours of driving. The return trip was able to be done in about 22 hours due to various pit stips and meal breaks, go fig. I had my laptop with a dvd player installed in it, but we never used it, hehe Sang a few songs, listended to a lot of music and did various other things to keep the children occupied. My 9 year old was just happy to see Mountains and a big change of scenery, that and she wrote in her journal documenting are trip. It is interesting to read about our trip from my 9 year olds perspective. G/l and remeber cruise control is your friend, hehe

Beats 'he's touching my stuff' and 'make her move ooooooooooover!' or 'quit it quit it! LOL! Now if you were taking the family dog, too, you'd have a bonafide 3 ring circus! I remember our family trips fondly, but then I was one of the kids, so I wasn't the one driving and having the back of my seat kicked or trying to get the slurpee or jujubees off my neck! Happy trails!

Thanks for the thoughts, Elif. And you reminded me of something -- I'm bringing my laptop, which can double as a DVD player. I hadn't considered that...

And Cloudy, our family pets are hermit crabs, so they don't do a whole heck of a lot No circus opportunities there, unfortunately.

Countdown is commencing... T minus 41 hours, 30 minutes and counting...

*wonders if the hermit crabs would wear little hats and snip at unruly children on command like the circus performers * Sorry! I got this sudden image of little hermit crabs in clown hats jumping through hoops on command... LOL

Hmmm... now *there's* something to start training 'em for...

Both the kid-snipping and the circus, that is.

Hehe..if you ever did train them, you'd be able to quit your day job and go into business in Hollywood or at least Barnum and Bailey's!

Bad news, Ruby just found out that her cat Dexter died three weeks ago. When we moved the place we decided on didn't allow cats, so we had to find him and Lightning (his kitten) a temporary home, with car problems, financial difficulties, and poor communication on both sides we weren't aware of it until today, I found out less than an hour ago, and we haven't seen the poor guy since the night we dropped him off.
