Yes, that is the correct pronuciation. But it is spelled Jesus.

Jesus is also pronounced Jesus in Spanish, so Jesus and Jesus really are the same (Make sense of that!)

However, in my experience, nobody (at least in Venezuela) thinks it odd that their friend is named Jesus. My name's John, and nobody thinks of the apostle. What of all the Matthews, the Marks?

To American ears, Jesus may seem odd simply because it's one Biblical name that never made it into common usage. On the other hand, there is nobody named Christian in South America...

I know several guys named Christian(or Kristian),I don´t think of faith because the swedish word for christian is "kristen" and that doesn´t really sound like Christian.
