I play SoA in Win2k and every now and then the game just freezes, and I have to press reset. I can't even go back to Windows via Alt+Tab, Ctrl+Alt+Del etc. The crashes are, as far as I can tell, random.
I have got the latest patch installed, BTW. My comp is a 1.4Ghz Athlon, video card is a GeForce2 GTS /w the Detonator 23.11 drivers. The only thing I can think of is the resolution, because I play at 1024x768 which I know is unsupported. Why then have I not changed the resolution? The crashes are quite infrequent, and lower resolutions look bad, so I'd rather check out this option if there is nothing else that can be wrong. If there is something apart from the resolution that I can change, I'm willing to try, and of course, if we come to the conclusion that the resolution is the problem, I'll reluctantly change it and see..
