I played through with my fighter/mage/thief. Now I want to try to solo with my monk.

Questions:

How do you kill big badasses like Demi-Lichs, which needs at least +4 weapons to be hit. Your fists are only +3 at level 20 and don't go higher.
Which stronghold do you have in SoA, cause I want to play SoA first.

Various Questions on soloing:
1. Whom was your toughest enemy, when you soloed???
2. Which level do you reach?

I think Irenicus was the toughest enemy, cause I couldn't cast TimeStop and that Maze-Spell really pisses me off. Demogorgon was easy, just as Draconis. If you can cast Timestop while fighting dragons, the fight is nearly over.

2. I am nearly at the end of ToB at my char is at level:
fighter: 31
mage: 27
thief: 40 (I think)

(I installed the Godlike-patch from Baldurdash to gain more than 8 Million XP)

Well, Monks do get +4 fists BUT that's at level 24/25 (don't know exactly). So in SoA it's not gonna work against Liches. Get proficient at the war hammer, then get the crom faer (that's my suggestion). You should be able to make it this way. You'll level up fast enough. Toughest enemy : Kangaxx (solo or not) you'll get your max levels easy and fast enough (cause you don't have to spread your XP over more than one character) Stronghold will be the d'Arnise keep for the monk.

I didn't find Kangaxx that hard. He was nearly the first dude I killed in chapter two and I didn't cheat. Soloing Kangaxx is more easy than fighting him with a group cause you don't have to buy a freedom spell, which you can first get in chapter 5 (I think)...
But can monks cast (mage or priest) spells???

No, they can't. They do get one Quivering Palm per day and quite a few Stunning Blows.

Also, I kind of soloed with my monk. I played with Viconia too. I also had Yoshimo, but I killed him and had Viconia raise him everytime I needed to unlock something important. Otherwise Viconia just bashed it with the Crom Faeyr .

Hardest is definetly Kangaxx the Demilich, that nameless demilich in Watchers Keep and Irenicus. Irenicus used Maze too much

If you have gone through chp. 3 then you have prob. picked up the cloak of stars, just make yourself 5 of those +5 darts and chuck them at the demilich.

thats a big NO-NO

he is talking about soloing a monk here, who is definately not proficient with dart, which deals 1 or 2 dmg on Kangaxx.

buy a scroll of protection from magic. cast it on kangaxx (or yourelf, either way), and he is as good as dead. the rest s about how you kill him before the duration runs out

hmmm, the only way to hit this badass early in the game is with the staff of rhynn (no spells). Can a monk use it?

250, why is that a NO-NO?

you have several prof.s points, and I believe you can choose darts for one of them (or is this where I'm wrong?).

add., if soloing how can a monk cast magic via a scroll designed for mages?
