So, have you had more fun playing your same Neverwinter Nights character in SoU, or making a new one?

I'm sorta kinda tired of playing a monk and would like to change to a cleric, but having to start at level one and rest after fighting a buncha kobolds kinda hurts my feelings...

New, definately. SoU assumes that your character is low level (1-3) rather than the level 16ish powerhouse you built in the NWN campaign.
Also, from a storyline perspective there's the NWN character on one hand, and the SoU+HotU one on the other. You'd import the one you created in SoU in to the second expansion.

Well, if you really don't want to be a monk no more, I guess you'll just have to bite the bullet and put up with kobolds hurting a bit more than just your feelings for a while.

Besides, what do you think would be more fun: getting a few challenging fights out of the beginning of SoU, or wading effortlessly through all those beasties on autopilot while filling out the crossword in today's newspaper?

Aahh okay...so my new cleric won't get creamed wandering around certain upcoming crypts.

I really liked playing a monk. So far it has been the most powerful starting character I've ever played. If you don't feel like getting repeatedly creamed in the beginning, that's a good one to go with. However, after re-playing all the way through with her, I felt like my character needed a little more ability depth.
I've been playing a Paladin lately because I wanted power to go with my spells, but that's a little rigid as well. I think cleric is as close as I'll get to a battle mage in these games.

I have to admit getting a sick kind of thrill from being an uber character wading around a bunch of weaklings.

"Thou shalt fear me puny ones!"

There is something fun about that, sometimes, plus, it saves on the reloads...
