When playing with your character do you attempt to keep him/her looking their best? Do you select weapons that suit/look good on your character? Or do you just powergame it all the way?

(option 2 is meant to say 'craft my stuff to make my character look good')

I chose the second option, because I have a tendency to make my chars gear match, even if I just have to dye the stuff he/she has.
Edit: That being said, I do like Ice Cream too.

In almost every situation, I do spend a lot of time crafting and modelling the equipment I use. The main exceptions are single player games and modules where expensive-to-alter magic items are a necessity; in those cases I'm content simply to keep the colours from conflicting.

Also, my characters don't typically wear helmets. Hooded cowls under exceptional circumstances, but I don't like how the headgarb makes the heads smaller and conceals the face I picked.

I don't usually select weapons to match appearance though; I craft the weapons to match once I have them. CEP and dyes make life so much nicer.

And aye, I've been guilty of mentioning that for all of others' efforts, I'm still the best looking party member

I always customise my character. I usually try to have them match their portrait as well.

Any N00b can be "Hero of Neverwinter" - however, not everyone can look stylish whilst doing it.
