Sorcerers can be challenging if your new to the game because you must have knowlegde of how all spells work to choose them carefully. Sorcerers are way more limited in the amount of spells they can know and cast compared to a magic user. If you play a magic user first there is way more flexibility to expiriment. Fighters are good first time characters if you decide to start over and the spellcasting npc's in your party will give you expirience with the different spells and how useful they are. If you want to keep your sorcerer and try different spells to find out how useful they are, you can use a character editor( like shadowkeeper) to switch your spells around. If you want a fair game I'd be careful to switch your spells evenly so you avoid becoming over-powerful and ruining the game expirience.

DONT WORRY!! with the money.... you'll get lots of it eventually doing all those subquest outisde the city.... (tip) =) its sometimes better to go out and gain some experience plus the moolah... about your character... dont worry cuz when he levels up hes gonna kick ass... just choose the right spells... if i were you... try making some combos..just read what the spells can do and what you want to put...GL

Just play through and familiarize yourself with the game. Try the tutorial if you are confused with the interface, it's really easy to get the hang of. Also level 10 is about right for that stage of the game.
