Could it possibly be the glove Werdna used to take the ancient amulet from the Mad Overlord Trebor.

This is part of the original Wizardry 1 storyline

Supposedly a pair of either mythril or mystic gauntlets were lost at one time. They are described at being a bluish grey color (wouldnt that be cobalt?)
Anyway u could only use the power of the amulet if you were holding it with the gloves or at least one of the gloves.
Trebor had found one and so had Werdna.
But Trebor had found the amulet first.
So Werdna cast a paralyze spell on Trebor and then werdna came in and just took the amulet.
But decendants of the knight of diamonds (the party) found werdna and supposedely killed him.
And supposedly returned the amulet to trebor and im asuming the other glove.
So that would leave Trebor with Both gloves and the amulet.
Unfortunately i dont know the rest of the story.
Either there is more to it, or it is the end of it.
Because this was reveiled in Wiz 4
and i know that after Wiz4 it was D.W. Bradley making Wizardry, not the original guy Andrew Greenberg.
Anyone have any more info
or maybe im smoking crack here and just misinterpreted a blueish glove from the last game in the series to have somthing to do with the first.

Hello,

A spoiler is something that gives away a major part of the game, and if you post on this you need to let others know in the topic and put in spoiler space. It looks like you did this already.

I've changed the topic and put in some more spoiler space. CHuskarl, please be more careful when posting big give aways, especially from the end game! There are a lot of people who haven't finished it yet.

There was a cobaltine powerglove you could choose to get in Wiz 7 as one of four unique items. It came from the Helazoid city that Jan-ette was from. It was usable by just about any class and ammo used (it was a ranged weapon) was the powerpaks we find on rare occasions on Dominus. As I recall, it did somewhere around 6-36 damage and could shoot 20 times before having to reload it. It had a good chance of paralyzing and also a chance of killing an opponent. I had one in several different savegames imported from 7 but the glove never came through into 8.

Too bad -- it was a nice weapon to have and I really missed it in this game.

Talking of those powerpacks, what ARE they for? Didn't have a gadgeteer in my first party to finish so I presume it's something for a modern weapon for a gadge?

I wonder how many folks realize who Werdna and Trebor really were

And the above sentence gives a hint :-;

I didn't ever use them myself this game but had thought they would be ammo for the frontier phaser pistol you can sometimes get from Jan-ette. They were only good for that and the powerglove in Wiz7 so that was my assumption.

Thing is that I've had at least two people swear they were able to continously use the phaser pistol with no ammo at all. If they are correct then either the powerpaks are a leftover from something the developers were going to put in and didn't or else the phaser pistol is bugged as currently implemented. A fortuitous bug, but one nonetheless.
