By the same token, when you drink liquids such as fresh fruit or vegetable juice, "chewing" them means swishing the liquid back and forth in your mouth to mix it thoroughly with your saliva for the same reasons.

(Keeping this in mind, it would be best not to drink liquids during meals, but instead wait about a half hour after eating. That in itself should encourage more thorough chewing.)
This almost sounds realistic. However, Friday night pizza and beer would no longer be a combination! Hmm. Decisions, decisi.....

Think outside the box man. 25-50 chews per bite gives you time to walk around, do some light gardening, change lighbulbs, go jogging, etc. Dinner will need to start at around 3, pretty much right after lunch if you want to get done and get some sleep before midnight.

Of course, not wolfing down food makes sense. Incidentally, anyone who remembers trying to chew 22 times (the arbitrary number quoted when I was a kid) also remembers how very bad food tastes after about chew #17. Yes, digestive enzymes are at work, and yes, you'll know.

Indeed, I shall not, after reading this, chew my food until it turns into a completely saliva filled goo I'd be disgusted to swallow. I would, however, consider chewing my food slightly more properly than before.
