Welcome to the board, Maxi-X!!!

Don't fret about it. This is often the way it happens as you change classes and go up levels. It will all work out in the end.

Check out the BEST TIPS thread - there should be some more information on this subject in there.

This is what always (or at least, always in my experience) happens when you change class: you gain one hit point and usually one skill point for each level **until** you attain the level you had reached in your previous class. At that point, you will begin gaining more hit/skill points like usual as you progress beyond your previous level.

For example: if a level 5 warrior changes class to barbarian, he will gain one hit point & one skill point for each of his first four levels as a barbarian. When he reaches level 5 barbarian, he *can* gain higher hp/sp, depending upon his current stats, etc.

Hope this explanation helps prevent utter frustration with an excellent game!

If I remember correctly, It says in the game "manual" that when you change your class, you will only get minimal HP and skill points untill your new class is at least as high as your old class was. (or something like that)

The minimal HP thing is somewhat true. They're exeptions. The two most notable ones are from Wizard or Priest to Barbarian (only when done at the beginning of the game). Then, depending on how many HP you had on your previous role, you can expect to gain good HP even when you are below your previous highest level.

One thing to remember: don't reload your game for HP. Not that it's bad but it's wasting your time if you do. In the end it always works out to a balanced character.

The skill thing is normal. Once you pass you re-attain your previous highest role, 1/4 of your intelect in skill points to distribute every level (until you change class again).
