Team Fortress 2
Anybody besides me? It's not for retail yet, but if you preordered via Steam, then you can play right now...
I'm having an absolute blast, though there seem to be some server stability issues.

I'm all outta money until October, so I haven't been able to preorder the Orange Box.
Looks great though... I loved zipping around in Team Fortress Classic as a Scout, stealing the flag from under the enemy's nose. |

Re: Team Fortress 2
Ah, understandable. You'll like it when you can play it, I'm sure. I'm entirely too enamored with the Heavy at the moment, though I dream of a team of nothing but Engineers on defense.

Re: Team Fortress 2
With the attackers responding by all switching to spies and posing as enemy engineers. Now that would be an interesting round.
Edit: actually, I heard that the spy's ability to pose as an enemy had been removed, and now he has an invisible-cloaking-device-thingy instead. Is that true? Last edited by Jaradu; 09-20-2007 at 12:52 PM. |

Re: Team Fortress 2
The spy has both the ability to cloak, and the ability to pose as an opposing team member...but loses cover as soon as they attack.

Re: Team Fortress 2
Well, they don't have all the kinks worked out yet...mine locks up a lot (I think due to network load, which is odd...Bittorrent doesn't crash my computer)...but I found out tonight that the Medic's pill-gun is a great weapon...I took down a soldier in no time at all with the thing...
Feel free to look me up sometime...I play as lyle_goodwin.

Re: Team Fortress 2
Hmm...would you guys believe that my girlfriend's laptop plays this game? Decently?
All settings on low, 800x600 res, sound on medium, but her Go5700 and 2.8GHz P4 can play it reasonably well... Ah, nice to be back on my desktop, though

Re: Team Fortress 2
Wow, I've been so caught it in playing it over the weekend I forgot to post here.
The graphics are amazing, just like a Pixar film... Motion blur is a nice touch, too. And I think I'm in love with the spy. I love the feeling when you turn on the invisiblity cloak, sneak behind enemy lines, disguise yourself as an enemy, act casual, then backstab five guys and blow up a couple of turrets before sprinting back to the safety of your base. The only problem is that on every server I've played on, everyone is super-paranoid of spies and gives everyone they see a shotgun blast to the face 'just incase' they're spies. Pyros are especially irritating in that sense, they're way to trigger happy. |
