Minor spoilers ahead.
.
.
It always bothered me that when you hire a prostitute of any kind in this game, save in the Copper Coronet, they always invite your friends to watch. That's kinda disturbing. I never imagined any of them actually would like to.

But sometimes characters interject things during or immediately after dialogue. Comments on surroundings, being tired, or reputation. And sometimes they can be amusing. So wasn't I tickled to find that maybe the courtesans were onto something after all.

Courtesan: Right-o. Follow me, then, me dear. It isn't far from here... Your friends can come too, if they like to watch.
Viconia: I find this a most satisfactory arrangement.

This is why I've kept playing after all these years. Anyone else want to share circumstantially amusing conversations? I know that lovetalks and where they occur are a neverending source of entertainment...

Sarevok asked me right in the middle of the battle with You-know-what in Watchers Keep about why I tote him around and tolerate him. Glitch i guess...

In the Umar Hills, my party is duking it out with a vast, vast, vast (vast) army of shadows. In the middle of it all, Valygar suddenly decides to stop and ask Minsc about his hamster. He's a Stalker - he should know better than to break cover in enemy territory.

Dalamar, that character's name needs to be edited out . However, that character did the same thing to me in a different battle a few days ago.

Okay, so now I'm in Spellhold. A little exposition... I'm doing the Jahiera romance (PC is an elf), and in the party I have Viconia, Aerie, Jahiera, Imoen, and Mazzy. When I rest after the Bodhi encounter, I expected some confusion... I got Aerie after three or four Jahiera lovetalks, so Aerie was a bit behind (and I haven't been forced to "choose" between them yet). Never the less, I wasn't sure who the Slayer was going to attack. I wanted it to be Jahiera, as that would be consistent with the romance I chose. But instead the Slayer attacked Viconia. After reloading, I got more of the same. Intrigued, I reloaded and kicked Viconia out of the party. Kicking Viconia out of the party gave us a 19 reputation, so there we were, playing merry-go-round, Slayer chasing Jahiera around a minotaur statue, me imagining what it would feel like to be in Jahiera's boots, and then the voice of indignation:
"Hmph. I hope this is not a sign of things to come..."
And then, the voice of optimism:
"I'm so happy you brought me with you. I never imagined we'd be doing such great things!"

Hm. That little harlot was happy I was eliminating her competition! Oh, the fictional lives we lead...

Nalia's Why are we just sitting around here... while we're cleaning out her keep!

Yes, Nalia saying that during the keep quest that is one of the more amusing ones.

Nalia:"How are we helping the less fortunate trudging around in here!" Is what she says IIRC.

The most amusing instance of something occuring like I've experienced also involves Nalia. She was just abducted by Isasea(sp) Roenall and straight after Yoshimo pipes up:"I'm sure these setbacks are only temporary". Good timing Yoshimo.

That being Yoshimos comment if your rep is too high/low.

^ I've had that too, funny timing.

When I was in the bridge district, I threw a fireball, and right as it killed a few peasents, Keldorn said, "I approve heartily of the path you have chosen"

Changing sides Keldorn? hmmmm?

Surely the best accidental Nalia quote is where she steps over her father's corpse, to loot the family vault, and says "Is that all? I was hoping for more."

I also get a little amused when fighting beholders, and Minsc shouts out, "Go for the eyes Boo. Go for the eyes." That is one overacheiving rodent.
