On the subject of possible bribery

Do anyone remeber the Seoul Olympics - especially the boxing tournament. It took 10 years before it was finally proven that several ringside judges had been bribed to hand victories (and gold medals) to boxers from South Korea.

I wonder whether we will hear similar stories about WC 2002 in 2012

Guess I've been reading the wrong newspapers and magazines then, been influenced by the wrong columnists. Despite how you regard him, Wegereef is more disputed than you think. Ask any Feyenoord fan after PSV-Feyenoord on the 14th of April this year, for instance.

I mentioned it in a previous thread. Roy jones was the boxer that was robbed of his gold medal.

I guess they are still bitter about that penalty that helped to send them home with their tails between their legs!

jump, jump, jump, little spice girl...
beckham, that didnt turn out to be so brave, made this huge leap and brasil took the ball on its way to the goal. seems he was more worried to protect his frail little ankles than to win the ball. ole advices: send him to the royal ballet of london, hell do great.

beckham greets a rival, and another one, swaps his shirt that is dry like just taken out of the laundry. he comes out with his hairdo unaltered, of course, for more pride of his coiffeur, that had just arrived days before. bye bye... nice return home. by plane or jumping, like in brasils first goal. he rose in the air like he was sergei bubka and rivaldos goal ensued.

to celebrate owens goal, he was first in the line, though. looking at the camera, pure show. now when it comes to playing... hmmm... against brasil he played backwards all the time. yesterday the one that elbowed kily gonzalez, the one that scored with the badly shot penalty, didnt exist. even more, after all his talk about fair play, the one that critisiced argentinians because "they could do anything" simulated 2 penalties that the referee didnt whistle. bye bye beckham. nice return home and well try to get in touch with you. our national ballet needs a leading... man?
He could have left his legs there then rolled over 20 times like Slimeone did(or any other South American player). Is it true they dont use grass rollers in Argentina because they know the grass will be flattend by the players during the first ten minutes of a game.

[/QUOTE]Come on now G, you know how hysterical footballfans can be over a wrong decision by the ref, he's still the best in Holland, together with Jol. And what newspapers write...... ah well, have you ever seen a newspaper which DIDN'T write any shit ?

"The South Koreans' opponents have been stunned by their fitness as they have seen off European footballing giants Portugal, Italy and Spain in the World Cup."

It appears The Straits Times has forgotten that most of the players of Portugal, Italy and Spain (and the other European Countries for that matter) have been playing something like 70+ matches of Club football (league, cup and UEFA Cup/Champs league matches) whereas the Koreans probably had a much cushier season.
