This was a letter sent to the Guardian Newspaper recently. I think it highlights the fact that however bad things are there is always someone worse off.
I am a sailor in the merchant navy. My parents live in South London and one of my sisters, who lives in Brixton, is married to a guy from North London. My father and mother have recently been arrested for growing and selling marijuana and are currently dependent on my two sisters who are prostitutes. I have two brothers, one who is currently serving a non-parole life sentence in Wormwood Scrubs for the rape and murder of a teenage boy in 1994, the other currently being held in Wandsworth on remand on charges of incest with his three children. I have recently become engaged to marry a former prostitute who indeed is still a part-time "working girl" in a brothel, however her time there is limited as she has recently been infected with an STD. We intend to marry as soon as possible and are currently looking into the possibility of opening our own brothel, with my fiance utilising her knowledge of the industry working as the manager. I am hoping my two sisters would be interested in joining our team. Although I would prefer them not to prostitute themselves, it would at least get them off the streets and hopefully the heroin. My problem is this: I love my fiance and look forward to bringing her into the family and of course want to be totally honest with her. The question is should I tell her about my brother-in-law being a Spurs fan? [ 04-05-2002, 06:00 AM: Message edited by: Donut ]

ROFL, my answer to that question is no. Telling her that your brother in law is a Spurs fan is not a good idea, that sort of thing ruins relationships. (was there a reply Donut?)

A Spurs fan is a person who goes through life with a permenant frown on his face. Above his head is a little personal grey raincloud which follows him everywhere he goes. A Spurs fan lives in the woodwork only showing himself in the close season. A Spurs fan wears his team shirt with pride - until they lose at which time it goes back into the bottom draw. A Spurs fan always thinks that next year is going to be their year. A Spurs fan always believes his team is in a rebuilding stage. A Spurs fan is a fan whose season highlight is when Arsenal get beat. A Spurs fan wouldn't know attractive football if it smacked him round the head with a wet herring. A Spurs fan is a fan whose club has not won the championship for 41 years. A Spurs fan is someone who is always cold because he has lived his life in the shadow of the mighty Arsenal. A Spurs fan is someone who always leans to one side because of the size of the chip on his shoulder. A Spurs fan is someone who wants to bend your ear back if his team wins one match but who disappears for weeks when we beat them. A Spurs fan is a fan who gets excited about getting to the final of the Worthless Cup and then cries when they get beaten. The funniest thing of all is that a Spurs fan thinks his team is the equal of mine. Now that IS funny! Does that answer your question Reeka? Thank you so much for allowing me to vent my spleen on my 2nd favourite subject.

Donut,
Somehow I get the sneaking suspicion that this has something to do with sports-----I don't do sports. *hugs*---anyway
