I just crossed a bridge after ansering riddles and now get to confront many bugged-eyed monsters. I cannot defeat them. Too many pop up. Has anyone been here and can tell me hints to defeat all these bug-eyed things??? pleasePleasePlease??

If you have the Bonus Merchants patch, buy the Shield of Balduran.

Hmm! I was here but I only had to deal with one of those green bug eyed monster. Latter on in another section I did get swarmed by two or three of them at once and in packs like that of greater than one they are extremly difficult.

Tne number and type of these monsters (called Beholders, btw. The green small one is known as a gauth) depend on the relative level of your party. A lower level party will face fewer and lesser while a stronger party would face more and more powerful varieties.
I would suggest getting the Shield Of Balduran (available only from Deidre if you have the bonus merchants installed), and equipping it on your best tank and having him/her going it alone. Read the description - you'll know why it' ggod against beholders. Alternatively you could do it the hard way: summons, buff spells, area effect spells (fireball, cloudkill, etc) and trying to draw them out one at a time and nailing them with missile weapons.

If you manage to pull it off, try Greater Malison --> Spook. I believe that the beholder rays are "scripted".... If you scare them, they shouldn't be able to do their little beholder rays like they do. Then they can er physical attack you. I think Elder Orbs can maze you, as well...
