if i drop a player at spellhold when i pick up imoen, is there any chance of getting that character back or are they stuck there

MonksRule, I'm afraid you cannot get them back legitly, because you cannot return to Spellhold once you exit. However, I'm wondering if you have Yoshimo in your party, because that might solve your problem. I'm not going to spoil you unless you ask for it, because I don't know if this is your first game...

thanks, now i know to only go with 5 (i dropped yoshimo a while ago for jan jansen)

MonksRule, I would strongly suggest that you take Yoshimo with you instead of Jan, and then you can take a six-person party. I won't spoil you, but believe me, the roleplaying and storyline will be improved by it. After you return from Spellhold, you can pick up Jan again...
(You could also swap Yoshi for another member of your party and keep both Jan and Yoshimo.
