Ok, just some confirming here...

If install TOB, and I'm playing SOA, the xp cap will be shifted to the TOB Cap of 8 million right?

If I remove the xp cap (without TOB), and lets say, Jaheira becomes a level 15 Druid (or whatever it is so that I obtain the *abilities*), will I get to choose the abilites for that level when I begin TOB? or will that ability be gone foreever?

Thanks guys!

Yes, when you install ToB the exp cap in SoA is raised immediately to the 8 mil in ToB.

As for your second question, I'm not sure but I think you will forgo any special abilities that you could have chosen if you had installed ToB in the first place.

For example, say a fighter reaches level 20. If ToB is installed, you would be able to select an ability for him when he levels up to level 20. But say you just removed the exp cap w/o ToB. When he levels, you can't choose an ability for him. Then you install ToB. When he levels up next, you get to choose only one ability for levelling up to level 21. You can't gain the ability for having levelled up to level 20.

You will not be able to retroactively choose special abilities for any levels gained as a result of removing the SoA cap. You will only get to choose abilities for levels gained after you install ToB.

For example, fighters should begin getting special abilities at Level 20. If you remove the SoA cap and get to level 23, and then you install ToB, you will only get to choose an ability once you get to level 24 - it doesn't allow you to retroactively choose abilities from levels 20, 21, 22 and 23.

It pays to not remove the cap. Better to get ToB if you're planning to play it.
