I believe that spelling matters. I recently received an email from my boss about a plan to push sales on complimentary products. Frankly, I'm not interested in selling those.

Complementary products, however, are a different matter. I'm just not interested in selling something that's free. My commission doesn't do much then

Back in junior high, I had an English teacher with a couple of hard and fast rules. One was that if you ever mis-spelled the word "its" (or "it's"), you automatically failed that paper, whatever it was. It still sticks with me...

And it's a poor person who pores over what they're pouring....

I do my best... most of the mistakes I make are either because I'm tired and/or drunk and/or in a hurry...

Only once been in all 3 at the same time... that was fun...

I try my best to spell correctly and use proper grammar, but sometimes, like when I'm chatting with friends, I really don't try to be perfect On IW I do try because I want to be understandable, lol.

I make an effort to make sure that my grammar and spelling is correct, and I respect those that do the same more. I rarely nitpick on mispelled words unless they sound hilarious.

Edit: I also make an effort not to double-post, but sometimes I appearantely fail.

Yes it matters. On another forum I sometimes get replies I can't get any info from. Grammatical errors are less hard to figure out but it's annoying if the spelling is incorrect and there are no punctuation marks(?). I don't think it's necessary to run a spell checker on every post you make though it could be helpful. I don't care if someone makes some spelling mistakes. The point at which it gets annoying is when native speakers write unintellegible. I posted a question somewhere else which was answered by an american and I had to read his post 10 times before I got a clue what he was talking about and in the end I still had some doubts if I picked it up correctly :/

Anyone who can only think of one way to spell a word has no imagination. Language is not static. It changes with time. !n 200 y3@r5, 3\/3ry-1 \/\/!11 b u5!ng 133t 5p3@k. The l33t will inherit the earth!

... sure ...
Well, I do my best, but sometimes when I make a stupid mistake I don't correct it if I know people will understand what I'm trying to say.
