Luckily, like most Americans, my water is fine to drink. It's pulled from 2 miles out in Lake Michigan and does fine. Plus, my fridge filters and cools it, and that's where I get my water from. Sure, I'll buy a bottle every now and then just to get the bottle... which I subsequently use over and over by refilling it from tap.

However, if you want to see what will really drive some wars/disputes in some areas in the future, look to water. As indicated by some in this thread, you can't get good water everywhere. It is scarce and depleting -- in the face of increasing population.

Problems with water supplies have begun in the third world and are migrating. In the future it will be a big issue, and I expect bottled water prices will outpace gasoline prices for some time to come.

I have a Brita... The tap water here is rather is pretty bad, and the Brita promotes it to Tolerable.

I buy bottled water when I'm out and I'm thirsty. I don't buy the most expensive one though... It all tastes like water anyway. And after that I reuse the bottle like Timber does.

No never. Paying for water in Sweden is like paying for sand in Sahara.

I only buy bottled water when I'm out somewhere like, say, a restaurant, but never keeps bottled water at home; the tap water here is good enough.

I buy bottled water, but not the plain stuff. Volvic touch of fruit for me. You need something you can taste to justify the cash.

Lol @ Stormy.

I never buy bottled water...it nearly costs as much as the equivalent amount of fruit juice or fizzy drink, so I'll rather buy that and get all the added vitamins/sugar.
