Belial, Lord of Fire (spoilers), I beat him :)

Budoc Sten, my lvl9 gnome wizard took down Belial today! It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in NWN so far. (in Charwood, if you don't know....scary place! [img]graemlins/uhoh1.gif[/img] )

I read the big book and thought "all right! i get to summon Belial! how cool is that?" ...i was so excited that i forgot to cast protection from evil lol...so i cast burning hands to summon him and there he is, 3 times as tall as me, and he laughs at me for forgetting to use protection from evil. he stomps towards me, evil skull of death with beady red eyes, flaming sword in hand, flames surround me and im scared! [img]graemlins/uhoh2.gif[/img]

my main attack spells were fireball and magic missile, which are useless against him, so i knew i was in trouble...i died pretty quickly then...but only once! i had to get revenge [img]graemlins/1pissed.gif[/img]

i respawned in the temple and rested with my newly picked spells. i had grimgnaw, the evil dwarven monk henchman, my dire bear, and my panther familiar. i gave all of us stoneskin, mage armor, cat's grace, and protection from elements, and went back to where i died. i casted my 2 cones of ice on him and polymorphed into a spider. he killed my panther, but my other 2 minions were still doing all right. after about 2 minutes of fighting, he finally falls! victory is mine! hah, and his character sheet said IMPOSSIBLE in big purple letters [img]tongue.gif[/img]

all i got was a lousy 200 exp from it too...i have a screenshot, but i dont know how to post it

has anyone else killed him? i want to hear how other classes deal with this beast of a demon

i would have to see the screenshot of that cause a lvl 19 barb and lvl 18 redtiger couldnt even inflict one point of damage.he is pretty much immune to most if not all attacks.

but if you had that much trouble with chars that high, he was probably scaled down a lot for me.

He's not immune. His damage reduction is a measly 5 I think. It might be 10. He's just got a 40 AC. Pretty yucky eh! My 10th level fighter/3rd level 'muter couldn't take him. Sigh. I only hit him twice and crited both times. Only did like 20 pts of damage.

I couldn't hit him for toffee. Figured he was more useful if you COULD cast pro vs evil anyhow

yes there is, any class can summon him, because the burning hands u cast comes from a wand that you find. I summoned him in hopes of killing him with my gladiator to see if he had any good loot, but i cast prot from evil on accident, and couldnt resummon him after he left [img]tongue.gif[/img]

he got this strange spell ( look like a black hole ) which immediately kill my lv12 fighter ( with a full health ). I couldn't even damage that thing.

he didnt use that spell on me...the only spell he used was something that set the floor on fire in a big blotch...id say it was firewall but it didnt look the same

and i dont know why you guys are having so much trouble with him...

i tried him again today (lvl16) and he didnt hurt me or my minions at all (stone skin, protection from elements, haste)

i really want to post this screenshot...
