Hi Morgain!
Check to see if you haven't missed anything. Have you got the walkthrough? Has any of your men got "Breath of Air" spell? You could use that, however if you click on the Portal to make the obelisk appear - take it! Then you can walk up through the water to the outside and find the Leprechaun. As for Kerah not being there perhaps you have a glich in the game. Someone who knows more technical stuff than me might be able to help. However I would check to see if you haven't missed something. Happy gaming

What happened? And where are you exactly?
After placing the statuette on the altar, you will see a column of water going up and down from the basin nearby. The column is an elevator in fact. Jump on the column and try to get through the opening in the ceiling. This may be a problem - if you aren't positioned correctly on the elevator, you will be getting "crushing damage" permanently and you will be unable to go through the hole. If you see this, change your location on the elevator. Oh, well...
Now, you must be quick. Immediately after passing the opening, leave the elevator (otherwise you will go down or you get "crushing damage" again) and search the wall for a lever. Flip the lever.
You have left the shrine. The opening in the (now) floor has vanished and you can swim up. You should end in an underwater sanctuary. Kerah should be here. She is not interesting, neither is interesting what she says. Look around and seek the "portal gate" in the sanctuary. Click it. A small crystal obelisk should appear. Take the obelisk. It is related to Anephas.
Swim to the water level and check the area around. It is related to Leprechaun. You must explore it now because, due to a bug in the game, you will be unable to return there later.
Return back to the underwater sanctuary and to the lever. Flip the lever again and return to the Anephas Shrine. If you got mad from this elevator already then you can Call of Home to Brimloch Roon and return to the shrine through the normal entrance.

The elevator in the shrine is the worst elevator among all incredibly ugly elevators in the game. It is also the last one. Thanks God!

And to add one final comment, the easiest way to avoid drowning is to periodically get a breath of fresh air in one of the many air pockets. Look up in the ceilings in most areas, and you can find them. They may not be big, but they don't have to be.

And I'm assuming that you're already wearing your breather and helmet. If not, put them on, for Kerah's sake -- they do you no good sitting around in your backpack.

Also, you can bless and enchant the helmets. I like to max out the protection from fire, ice, and magic spells on them.
