I just started a new party, and my thief became cursed from opening a chest. It's way too late to reload, and I can't figure out how to uncurse him. I've been trying to get him help at the temple, but no luck. How do I lose the condition?

Hi there! I think Exorcism (7th level spirit spell) cures minion's curse...

You can also go to a temple... they can fix anything there
And, if you hadn't noticed, it can be a great opportunity to practice the mantra of "save early, save often".... On the other hand, to avoic this in the future, be ready to cancel out of lockpicking just before you run out of time. If you do that, the only risk you face is the occasional set-off trap.

Thanks guys. I'm way too low level for Exorcism yet, so I'll try the temple. This is embarassing, but I've been at the temple and didn't see the option to cure the curse. Do I need to buy a potion for it, or get Rites (that's only if you're dead, right?), or what?

Hi Marathon!!
Use the RITES - They're Healing Rites and not just for the dead! Hope that helps get you one your way again! Wyv |

Yep! Basically, Healing Rites will fix whatever ails you, no matter what it is. 'Course, the more that's wrong with you, the more it costs...

Thanks guys! I'm far from a temple now, but will get my little ratling back to speed once I get back. That's almost as embarassing as finding out the Ahnks I thought were equiped (like in Wiz8) had to be invoked to be useful...

One of my embarassing moments was going almost broke to have the Temple cure poison for one of my characters, and then a little later discovering I could have bought a Cure Poison potion from the Magic Shoppe for a lot less money.

I think the "restore health" spell cures it too. It cures insanity anyway.

Exorcism and Restore Health are great, if your characters are high enough level to have those spells.
I have one priest specializing in Spirit spells and another in Vine, to give me access to most of the healing spells fairly quickly; they can each pick up the other spellbook later in their careers.
