Default Just purchased....

Just purchased the 4 disc BG compilation with BG, TotSC, BG:SoA, ToB.
My older copies of the game are going to my brother, so they'll get some continued good use.

What I'm wondering is if the BGtutu/BGT type and other mods will work on this version of the game. It comes as 4 dvd's one for each game and it's expansion.

I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't but I would have to get that set and try it.

So, assuming it's basically all the same files and such, there should, hopefully,
be no issues.

On installation both games I was greeted by requests for a language selection.
English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German. I'm going to venture a guess and say that these are the european releases of the games? Or have they simply added new language content to the north american versions on re-release?

Attempted to install the easytutu program, didn't work, saying I either need to patch my ToB game, or that I am using a non-north american version. Given the language options, I'm leaning towards the latter. I later tried installing the bgtutuv4 file, but the readme is pretty vague about where to install (extract) the file. Worst case scenario, I just won't be using the class kits in BG1+TotSC. Though, I always wanted to try and work with a sorceror. Never really got into it much before.

Are you using the Weidu version of BGTutu so it installs like every other mod? That should take some of the guesswork out of it.

If you can excuse the profanity in the title, this thread on another forum has an up-to-date list of mods to install (look in post number 2) and what fixpacks you should be using these days.

Just read up a little on amazon where I bought this copy of the game. It seems part of the problem could be that I assumed the ToB install to be fully patched. One of the reviews mentioned that to get easytutu to work on this version ToB needed to be patched, but the version of BG+TotSC are the same as the 3 disc version, and fully patched as a result. I'll have to try that out tomorrow. Barring success on that front, I'll have a look at the links.

At any rate, thanks for looking into it, shamrock.

Ok, confirmed, I needed to patch ToB for easytutu to work.

I now need to install tutu fixpack.

Here's the thing, it's telling me to unzip it to my BG2 directory, But Bgtutu installed in a directory of it's own and deleted my BG1 install. The only thing in my BG2 directory is BG2 + ToB.

Should I follow the directions as posted and unzip to and run from my BG2 directory, or does it belong in my BGtutu game location?

It goes into the TuTu directory. Any mod that you are going to use for TuTu goes in the TuTu directory.

tutu fixpack installed.. But when I try to run BGtutu, it keeps asking for the BG1 expansion disc. which I insert, but it doesn't recognize. Could it be looking for the BG2 or ToB disc? I dislike the thought of having to reinstall the whole thing over again, testing it at every step. I will if I have to, but I still dislike it.
Or would it be simpler just to find and run a no-cd crack?

-*-::UPDATE::-*-
SCRATCH the above, it just wanted the ToB disc. Bad case of not thinking in the morning.
