[/QUOTE]And as I mentioned before, that could have actually given the mall *legitimate grounds* for dismissal. Then they could correctly accuse the guard of NOT doing his job.

The mall created the policy...they should have had the backbone to accept the bad publicity from it. They could then have discontinued the policy, which would have made everyone happier....but instead of taking responsibility for their poorly thought out policy...they looked for a scapegoat.
