I have created another version of the theme in a low magic persistant world, and he is doing fine, so far. Only to lvl 2 though, I almost forgot how tough it is to play in worlds that don't have High Magic. I've put a lot of time into this build, and the version I used to start this thread, while well equipped, isn't Undermountain equipped...I believe it to be playable anywhere, and that it would be successful. A weapon master, using his/her weapon of choice is an effective fighter, no matter the amount of magic on the weapon.

Of course, if I were to build a WM, I'd do it one of two ways.

Dual wielding nightmare (wielding 2 of favored weapon) or Two-Handed Weapon master (choosing between greatsword, greataxe, or even a heavy flail or quarterstaff for a lark)

But I haven't really played long enough to mess around with builds, tell you guys what, when I get my new computer tomorrow and have NWN+SoU+HotU installed, I'll download the character builder and give it a go.

Ok, results so far from playing around on Chewie's char builder: (Took them all to level 40)

1st Character: Fighter 12/Dwarven Defender 28
(Dwarven Stonewall)
Got all the weapon feats in Greataxe (Focus, Specialization, Improved Crit. Overwhelming Crit, etc.)

Good Points: Already a good damage absorber, give him some damage absorbtion equipment and he becomes like stone itself. High hit points mean this bad boy isn't going to go down easy. Plus he dishes it out with the greataxes.

Bad Points: Unable to dispel the various protections of wizards, including various invisibilty spells, etc.

He took the Aspect of Lloth to a stalemate (neither could damage the other)

Character 2: Fighter 12/Weapons Master 28
(Dual-Wielding Whirlwind)
Weapon of choice was scimitar and he dual-wielded them.Wore medium armor.

Good points: With the improved critical feat and the Weapons Master feat that extends the crit. range, he critical hit at rolls of 13-20. Not to mention about 23 Ki Damage uses. Mediocre hitpoints though, but like a miniature whirlwind in combat.

Bad Points: Mediocre AC and hitpoints means that he can be a liability at times. (Let's just say certain monsters in the arena handed his ass to him)

Character 3: Cleric(20)/Wizard(20)
(Spellslinger)
Good Points: Ass-load of spells.

Bad Points: Lack of focus. The lack of Epic Spells hurts this build even more. Safe to say that this build is an abysmal failure that fails to live up to the Cleric/Mages of BG2.

Character 4: Paladin(20)/Blackguard(20)
(Corrupted Warrior)
Two different kinds of smiting, a multi-purpose fighter.
Good Points: Sneak attack adds a bit of extra damage agianst those susceptible, With buffs he can be a powerful offensive force. Gets double charaisma bonus added to saves due to both Blackguard and Paladin levels.
Bad Points: Defensive end of this build suffers slightly. Summoned fiend is weak, even if epic fiend feat is taken. I believe this would be hard to implement ingame as well, due to the alignment reversal required right in the middle of training.

Character 5: Paladin(25) /Sorceror(1)/RDD(14)
(Dragon Knight)
Makes excellent use of the draconic ability scores. With the right equipment this guy's AC can be extremely high. The immunity to fire and paralysis helps out as well.

Good Points: With the right buffs (Divine Favor, Divine Might, Bull's Strength) this guy can become an offensive powerhouse. Truly a force to be reckoned with. (Took out the Aspect of Lloth on a dev. crit., but that's because she rolled a 1 on her save XD. But was hitting her reliably)

Bad Points: Few and far inbetween, he does have access to a dispelling spell, but as he's a paladin... I wouldn't put too much faith into it. An excellent greatsword is a must for this build. He can be a liability when mobbed, but who isn't? XD (Except for a dwarven defender, damage reduction rocks)

This last character is one I'm going to have to try out in EFU maybe (Same with the dwarf)

Yeah, on the cleric/wizard, I did a bard/aa/cleric, thinking that she would be a good combo, but got so disappointed at the lack of epic spells, I scrapped her, not a good idea, maybe. Upon reflection, I think this build could be extremely effective. High dex, with light to medium armor, could still have good ac, and excellent attack rating with a long bow. There is the down side of no epic spells, and only got to lvl 5 or 6 on cleric spells. However, this still leaves a considerable amount of buffing, with spells from both classes, and the bard song, or, unbuffing the enemy. All from a distance.
Another idea, along the same lines was bard/cleric/assassin, but I haven't tried it out yet. More if I get to it, or when.

Meh, when I tryed it, I was looking for something along the lines of the Cleric/Mages of BG2 Fame.

In that they'd be very effective with both sets of spells, boy was I wrong.

You see, Chewie's mod is good for one thing, testing out build
