Reload, as in load the game again. And that was a joke, trying the spell until the dragon fails a save.

There is a wonderful wand that never fails. It is called Wand Of Cloudkill.

Heavy hints - Back in the city you can find a scroll of 'Time Stop'. Get Aerie to equip it, then get her to learn the spell 'Harm'. Give her a +3 weapon.

I've never personally killed the dragon in this way, but I believe it should work a treat. Everyone else in your party can have a rest.

With the spell 'Finger of Death' and arrows/bolts of biting dragon-killing is almost too easy imho... I brought each and every dragon in the game down in no time like that.
Firkraag, for example, lasted about 5 seconds one time with 2 mages casting Finger of Death and a hit with an arrow of biting from my ranger... my melee characters hadn't even managed to close the distance to him as he fell.

Firkaag lasted about 5 seconds when:

Imoen: Time Stop
Imoen: Improved Alarcity
Imoen: Pierce Shield
Imoen: Pierce Magic
Imoen: Abi-Dhazim's Wilting
Imoen: Magic Missile
Imoen: Magic Missile
Imoen: Magic Missile
Imoen: Chromatic Orb
Imoen: Chromatic Orb
Imoen: Mislead

*time stop ends*

Firkaag: Takes Massive Damage

Imoen: Finger of Death

Firkaag: Death

Shadow Dragon didn't last long either.

Ya, I can see he wouldn't last long after such a barrage.

Kind of anticlimactic, though, if you think about it. Fighting a dragon should be something special and a victory (if that is how it ends) not earned lightly.

I have since battled it out the hard way without using FoD and/or time stop. It's a bit more satisfactory duking it out in the old way.

Usually I lower a dragons resistance, beat on it with tanks who have resist fear plus numerous defensive spells on them, and cast as much spells as I can

Everytime I've fought a dragon I've never had Time Stop, even when I got to the dragon in 'the elven city' (I can't spell its correct name ).

On a seperate note...

Breach is your freind, cast from a scroll and you won't be disrupted.

Make sure you keep your melee fighter's on diffrent sides of the dragon so it can't wing buffet them all away in one go.

and if worst comes to the worst..

If the worst come's to the worst you could try letting the slayer rip it up.
