I decided to play ranger when the game came out, even though I usually play as a paladin. I found myself weapon focusing on scimitar (go figure, eh?). I then realized I wanted to play a game through as a Drizzt clone, more or less. I'll wager to say that's why most of us are rangers. And yes, I have the panther as an animal companion. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. LOL
Well that certainly wasn't my motivation. I haven't read any Drizzt books, in fact any fantasy books at all except LOTR. I'm still wondering why I picked ranger actually, except maybe that I'd never played it before and I thought it would be interesting to try, and also that the spells and animal companion might help (I actually do have a panther too, but only because he looked so sweet lol ) with no party. And no scimitars for this lady ranger, she weilds a club and rapier

Fighter/Bard who weilds a 2 bladed sword. I love the idea of chanting while laying about with that thing

I have been playing Rangers longer than Mr. Slavatore has been writing books....probably since before he graduated Highschool I like the ethos of the class. I don't play a drow but I prefer Half-elf only in NWN do I make the exception of full elf because 3rd edition kind of neutered the half-elf. Unlike Drizzzt my elf is a Bow nut and is very very good with his bow

I'm a Rogue. They can do it all in one fashion or another. Stealth, fight, magic. I have muti-classed with a fighter for the purpose of weapon specialization. I expect to end the game with a 17th level Rogue/3rd Fighter. My only regret is having to kill something in-order to level up. I would much rather sleath and steal and kill only when necessary or appropriate. I'll play the game that way if I can max out XP before the game ends.

Regarding elven rangers, we can thank LOTR for that one, too...

I play Dark Age of Camelot, as well, which only allows each name to be used once per server. If I had a $1 for each variation of Legolas I saw on my realm, my server alone my student loan payments would be done with.

Legohlas, Leggolas, Legalas... you get the picture.

The only one I liked: Legolamb Gyro.

I'm playing a half-elven paladin at the moment. In retrospect, I wish I'd started him out as a fighter, done 4 levels for feats and weapon specialization, and then turned him into a paladin.

But oh well.

Multi classing is for weak fools. Any who cannot excel at a class is a victim.....probably my next
