So far, the quest for the Water pump has led me past Vault 15 and Shady Sands. In the former, I did both the Radscorpion and the Tandi quests (is she a joinable NPC?). Afterwards, I decided to go south. And ended up in Necropolis. Where, apparently, they have a water chip. Unfortunately, I managed to get kidnapped by a bunch of uber mutants. Not very pleasant chaps. Enfin, the point of the post; am I in the right place, or am I (lvl3) just way ahead of myself.
Thanks

you are waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of yourself.. good luck . i suggest going back to shady sands (or a save game near that) then try to go where your suppose to go first. its very hard to explore when you are low level

I felt I was pretty much done in Shady Sands. And Vault 15 really didn't have anything to offer either. Besides, there were only a hundred days left on the clock.

All those time and you are just level 3? You must have tried very hard to avoid combat or flee from combat a lot.

No fear, click here to download falche. Use it to add EXPs to your avatar as well as skill points, perks and etc. You will beat those nasty muties in no time!

Anyway, better grab this great editor while you still can. Fallout 1 files are getting harder and harder to find these days.

Yeah, I'm still level 3. Even though I killed pretty much everything in sight. Well, with the exception of those raiders, with whom I choose to bargain

Have you talked to Ian in Shady sands ? He can put a few other cities on your map to wich you can go to accumulate more exp. before going to Necropolis.
Oh and you can keep Tandi in your party untill the end if you avoid going back to Shady sands.

the order that i would recommand in visiting the cities is the following.
Vault 13 (duh)
Shady sands (pick up npc)
Vault 15
Shady sands again
raiders (barganing with them isn't bad)
Junktown (another two npc's here)
Hub (great for exp)
Necropolis

I would even go back and kill the raiders, because you can get some ammo, guns and armour from them which is always handy.

And don't forget the xp.
