Simple question
not so simple solution
Is there any way with any patch/up-dat/add-on
or any command i can make BG1 play in 800x640 resolution?????

screen postion in the .ini file is where some games are able to change resolution, microprose european air war springs to mind. but looking at the baldur.ini, the screeen positions are x=80, y=36. these would be x=640, y=480
(changed to x600, y800 do the math and maybe you can change it?)
in a changable game. you could experiment, i guess.. though be prepared for screen locks during loading, or crashes if you get it going. the question is how does 480 relate to 36, how does 640 relate to 80, how to change these to display at higher res?

I wanted to know this for when i have finished ToB
thus i have BG1 not installed (small diskspace)
so i cannot try
however the i have done the math and it should be x=100 and y=40

i just tried for you, but no change of significance on my monitor. if anything, it seemed a little .. closer? rather than further away.

The resolution is one thing you shoulden't tamper with!
It can have disastrous outcome...Maybe
