You know what I mean right? Characters in books that are unstoppable. Who do you think is the biggest uber character. My opinion Cadderly in Clerics Quintent (Slight Spoilers) He turns out to be a super ultra powerful cleric while he is reading a TOME! I was like WTF and his girlfriend! So much I hate her she has the strength of a giant and yet moves so fast. (I wonder who would win in a fight between Drizzt and Danica) There is one part I read she tears out a Orc's or goblins can't remember windpipe! She ripped it OUT!! And the DWARVES are SO STUPID!

And that is all I have to say

Drizzt, single-handedly kills everything, has no fear and such. reading the first 2 books was enough for me to never buy any novel of the FR series anymore.

Hehe. Yes, the best move of Salvatore's career would be to kill of Drizzt. Not all FR novels are that bad, however, just Salvatore's

I've never read any of Eddy's novels, but I've heard that Elminster is by far the worse Uber char ever. Immortal, incredibly powerful and sleeps with about every female character he meets in the books. *yawn*

When did Danica (a Monk) get Giant strength? She never had it before and she didn't have it in the last novel I read with her in it. As for Cadderly being an Uber Cleric...I think you missed the point of the story. He was only Uber when his God willed it thus and had specific plans for him..the rest of the time he spent his time gadgeteering and depending on Ivan Pikel to save his scrawney butt.

Hate Salvatores works if you want, I found them fun and the Cleric Quintet was a refreshing break from all the fighters/rangers and mages. I also enjoyed them because they were played/written more like the characters I gamed with using 1st edition AD&D rules.

Man why get so overly critical of fantasy stuff..ooo I hate this and that cause they had giant strength and they were too powerful...all while conveniently forgetting that its all fantasy anyway. As long as the writer is consistant with his basic laws of nature/fantasy I enjoy it. </font>

If you want truely Uber Characters look at some older fantasy/fiction. Morgaine and her sword come to mind, Elric and his, there are tons of characters far worse than drizzt, cadderly or danica...and even Elminster....you just need to broaden your knowledge a bit to find them. </font>

OFFTOPIC:

Sythe, I would have let you know via PM or email, but you've switched both of those off. Mind reducing your sig picture size? It's massive, way over the limits we have here.

Thanks, mate.

I will say this again...
I find it sad that people keep criticizing so-called Uber-characters for doing the things that they themselves do in the game. Only once in my entire life have I seen a player turn down powerful new weapons and abilities because he thought it unbalanced his character.
Usually people think along these lines:
"Man, I hate Wulfgar. In that last book, he uprooted a tree and used it like a club to swat some orcs. I hate Uber-characters. Salvatore sucks...
Anyhow, my character is soooooooooo cool. Last time we played, I used my Gauntlets of infinite god-like power to drop a mountain on a dragon. I rule."
Lol
