My game keeps saying that the connection is timing out. Oh, and it also keeps saying that Gamespot is disconnected. ???

Gamespy is/was down for a time today. Try again later, that's what I do .

Update : Just checked it now for ya. Gamespy is working fine but Zircoc's mod is indeed, timing out. I really suspect this has something to do with his bandwidth or systems as the forums are also timing out for me too. It's like theres too much people trying to connect.

Actually, it was just locked up (First time too). It'll still SHOW it in the directory, but won't allow a connect. odd.

Anyway, it's back up!

Ahhh okay. Do you know if my previous time-out problems during the last few weeks were due to yout fried ram problem you had? Just wondering.

Dunno.. It's not us though. do a tracert, and see if one of your hops is having packet loss. Bandwidth is excellent here since we upgraded it, and dropped the tgeweb.com domain back to the other host.

Do you do a direct connect or through gamespy? Avoid Gamespy at all costs, it's not needed, and is a waste of memory.

Try direct connects if you haven't yet. This may help. Are you on a high-bandwidth modem? (DSL or higher?) if so, did you tweak your MPU settings?

Yeah I always direct connect to EFU. The server is fine, it was just that one time the actual EFU mod was difficult. What I was asking about was the forum time-outs that I had been having in the last month before IW went down. I'm on cable but in my own and other servers have never had problems. Hey it's no biggy, as you said it is fine since you repaired the fried system and I can vouch to that here on my side, haven't timed-out yet.
