Whew, this topic exploded since yesterday. The lines are part of it. It's not a great graphical representation.

Hint: think about what two parallel lines might represent.

It's not the forum that ignores your spaces, but rather your browser. Standard HTML basically says white space is ignored unless it's a single space between words. Use   or   for non-contextual spaces.
