Memnoch, you really ran 4500rpm at 100 kays in the Integra? Why, did you lose high gear or something??
No, that's the way VTEC works - the redline was at 9000rpm, and you had to rev it up to about five and a half to access all the torque. It's bred for racing, not cruising. I got sick of having to rev it all the time. [/QUOTE]If you want to make power with the small displacement engines you've got to twist em... and Honda is DARN good at making power with 4 bangers.

My Z28 turns something like 1500 rpm at 70mph (113kph) with a 6500rpm redline. It's pretty much the only way to get 25mpg fuel economy out of a 400hp V8.

Cars are fun but they're an expensive hobby.

When I drive for fun, I drive a 2002 VW Jetta; the V6 makes it hard to keep her under 80 on the highway:

I also have a red Ford Exlorer with a lot of miles (and a lot more to go)that I use when it snows in winter:

and a silver Saturn that gets me to and from work during rushhour:

WellI drive a 96' Toyota Camery. Good car, but a little small. I'd like to be come a hillbilly like LofA and get a truck, but I can't afford it til we get the 2000 Olds Silhoutte paid for. That's the family car.
Before we bought the van, I drove a 1989 Toyota Landcruiser. That was one of the best damned vehicles I've ever owned! It wasn't fast and it was brutally ugly, but it could go anywhere, anytime. I sure miss that car. I've been looking at some others on E-bay. Might have to get another!
