If you have Jaheria in your party, the fight can be easier. Make sure to cast 2 fire elementals and a woodland being from her. Position your party to take out the mage and the imp ASAP. You should summon a couple of monsters to keep the thief occupied since as soon as Mencer's party turn hostile, the thief will try to backstab (not healthy for any of your party members). Once the mage and imp are gone, take out the thief. The barbarian and Mencer should be left till the end. If you are a good aligned party and have a cleric in it, cast the spell Holy Smite, Mencer's party are "evil" beings. Other spells such as Emotions, magic missiles, fireballs also helps.

Most people fight Mencar's gang long before Jaheria has enough XPs to cast one, let alone two fire elementals. A possible easy solution for a low level party:
1-Position your party over by the stairs. 2-Do the dialog option to turn Mencar's gang red. 3- Have Jaheria cast entanglement and any mages cast web. Overkill on the entanglement/web spells might be called cheese, but I prefer to think of it as fighting dirty. For good measure, cast hold on anyone that makes it out of the entanglement zone. 4- Kill at leisure. Using missle weapons of course. BTW- This works well on any powerful adventuring party (Sewers, Underdark, etc.). I once played a kensai/mage for a short time that soloed the sewer group with web, followed by minor globe of inv and ki. The opposition became short lived pells! A pell is a dummy that you practice swordplay against. ------------------ - Cayle |

Talk to him and say that your going so when you force attack him you wont have to race through the dialogue while they are fighting you.

Another underrated spell that people don't cast is Emotion. It's a level 4 spell. Excellent for disabling groups, particularly this one. Cast it right after Greater Malison (also a level 4 spell) and you'll only have to fight half of them.

They are definatly worth killing, the thief has the ring of invis and the cloak of non detection so make sure he doesn´t get away.(at some point, he trys to escape)

You're right. In some posts, you can see the same answers over and over. Why do they do that, do they want to get a higher # of posts???
