I finally got BG2! YES!!!
ok, I'm in the promenade after leaving the dungeons, and I have a load of junk should I keep? 1. The pommel of the Equalizer? 2. The Air Elemental Statue? 3. Keep the pommel jewel. You need it later in order to create a great long sword
Do not keep the Statue. You are supposed to open a door inside the prison where you came from - it´s useless when you are out in th open again. What energy crystals?!?! Hope this helps... |

Yes definitely keep the pommel jewel. If you right click on it and read what it says, I believe it tells you that it is part of a weapon (if it doesnt, know that it is) You wont get the other part of it until you get to the underdark and maybe not until Ust Natha (I dont remember which). You may or may not want that weapon but you wont know until you get it made.

Fyou haven't used the statue you can't go back now (not without cheating anyway)to use it - wouldn't worry - I missed that my first time through too

You might as well sell the pommel jewel. It will be a very long time before you come across any more pices of the Equalizer. The other two items--you might try to sell them, too, just to see if you can squeeze any money from a vendor.

You won't be able to sell the statue or the energy cells, so you might as well just drop them ASAP...and yeah, I missed that darned Djinn room the statue opens up my first times playing too. Figures that I finally noticed it and got the sword when I was playing a class that couldn't use it..heh.

The most you'd be able to get from a vendor for the pommel jewel would be 1 gp, if that. Best keep it as strange things sometimes happen to non-standard stuff you sell.

If you identify it the pommel jewel can be sold for 225 gold... however this is a tiny sum compared to the amount you will have accumilated at the end of the game so you might as well keep it and assemble the sword (even if you don't use it).
