Well stated Sir Krustin ... I was about to add that they mounted a 105mm in a couple when I saw your post.

I can't view the video either. I keep getting the can't find file, web address, host etc... error message. I doubt the material is anything more than Secret. Though I wouldn't want to be the crewman in charge of the gunship cameras when they talk to him. Was the footage taken with the aircrafts camera or with a hand held?

I got errors the first time, but the second it downloaded a couple of codecs and played. Dunno whats going on with it, maybe its just highly popular and the server is overloaded.

My bad, I was at work when I posted about the AC-130, didn't have the reference books here [img]smile.gif[/img] 75mm wouldn't do what I was seeing, but the 105 would [img]smile.gif[/img] Err are you sure the 105 is an Anti-tank gun and not a howitzer? I don't remember ever seeing anything about a rifled anti-tank weapon on this bird.

My source says antitank, though a howtizer is more likely - the barrel would be quite long, and these weapons all protrude from the left side of the aircraft (as opposed to longitudinally).

EDIT> Another source says the M102 howitzer.

I can't watch it either, i did a windows mediaplayer update, but still no footage. I heard from someone who saw it that it's quite a scene.

I was only just able to play it myself, that server must be quite busy. Winamp3 kept hanging on me, but WMP finally loaded it!

Nice footage, definitely ALLTV video. I heard "105" and "howitzer" many times in the video, which confirms what we discussed. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

In fact, they didn't seem to use the 25mm at all, and the 40mm only for spotting rounds - most of the damage was done by the 105mm.

Notice the guys running for the mosque!?
