You've got several options here.
Modules can be downloaded from some internet sites such as NWVault. You can choose from litteraly thousands of modules in various stages of development. Once downloaded, you can place the .mod files un your NWN module directory and play these in single player mode or host these modules as multiplayer games with yourself as one of the players, or as dungeonmaster.
Apart from that, you can also play other people's modules over the internet. You don't need to download them first, and in fact many of them are not even availiable for downloading. You can just select any game you like and jump right in.

In other words, you don't need to download any modules to play, unless you want to be able to use them off-line or to host a game yourself, in which case you'll need to put the .mod file in your nwn module folder.

To join a game using a mod is simple, just find the server in the list and hit connect. If you want to join a specific server, like Escape from Undermountain, youll need to find the IP and use direct connection since gamespy dosent list servers globally, but generaly if youve heard about a specific server you'll be able to find that easily enough.

Some mods require a hakpak, generaly there will be a notice about how to get it.

If you want to host it, youll have to actualy download the mod and then select it when creating the internet game. Gamespy will advertise the server to a certain area, you can also give out the IP if you want someone specific to join.

I would suggest trying Escape from Undermountain first, unless you want to download a module for single player use. The members here will not "sacrifice" you for loot, nor will they loot you themselves. Everybody works together, just like a party is supposed to.

When you join the game, your character will appear in the Yawning Portal Inn and Tavern. There are several chests and crates you can Search in the Tavern itself, or you can find Durnan (who will be behind a counter to your left when you enter). He has a HUGE inventory of items you can buy.

To enter into an online game, Choose "Multiplayer" from the menu when you first start the game. This will connect you to the GameSpy site that lists ALL online games currently running.

At the bottom of the screen, you will see a set of buttons that help you "connect" to games in progress. Choose "Direct Connection". A pop-screen will appear asking for the IP address of the game you wish to join and the Password for that game.

The IP address for Escape from Undermountain is 24.173.154.114:5121

There is NO Password required to join and the game is running 24/7 so you can literally join at anytime. Once you join, you will see a list of characters on the right showing who else is currently logged into the game. Move the cursor over each portrait, and you will be told which level that character is currently located on. You can try to find and join other characters, or you can just go solo.

The REALLY cool thing is that you can Save Character after playing Escape From Undermountain, then bring THAT version of your character back into your regular NWN game, but with some nicer equipment.

Hope all this helps and look forward to seeing you Under the Mountain.
