While listening to "Red Hot Chili Peppers - Power of Equality", I came across these lyrics:

I have no idea what the Ku Klux Klan is, so I decided to do a LookSprint (Wahoo!

) search on it. I discovered various websites, but I still don't have a full definition of what they are.

Would anyone mind explaining who they are, or point me in the direction of a website that tells all?

The Ku Klux Klan are a group of people who have taken ~~christianity~~ BLEEP! too far and read into it things which are simply not there. They believe that whites are the superior race and that this can be traced back to the bible. They are annoyed at the way blacks in America have gained equal rights and fight to reverse this - ie. to bring back the the times before Martin Luther King jr. While ethically not okay and absolutely inbred, they don't actually hate blacks per se - they're just against them having rights. Which I suppose equates to the same thing.

They were very powerful once, but have lost most of their power and have become marginalized.

You will probably recognice them in movies; they're the guys in white robes and white cone-shaped hats, burning crosses.

Arledrian explained it well. And I heard the KKK also detests Catholics and Jews. And the KKK are republicans...to the exterme.

The KKK are basicly white extremists that hate any other race other than their own and most relegions. They use violence, force, try to brainwash people with 'enlightening' literature and so on.
