I don't want to mention it, as General Discussion tends to be a place for the more light-hearted conversation, but today is September 11th 2004. The date, I think, is going to always have a lot of significance to me, and I simply can't let the day pass without remembering what happened three years ago.

So, if anyone else feels the need to say something, here's the thread for it.

Two years ago, we had a minute silence at school. Last year, we didn't. Today is Saturday but I doubt we would've done it anyway. I'm pretty peeved off with the school - are we just going to forget about this tragic event?

Strange coincedence - it was my sister's birthday yesterday and it will be my mum's tomorrow...

Kudos to you, Ilander, for bringing this up. We all need a reminder.

Three years ago I was sitting in my social studies class at 9:25 or so and had no idea what was going on...I still don't think I have a good handle on it, and I feel guilty for mentioning it sometimes, as terrorism is so commonplace in some parts of the world...but today, it just kind of throbs...

I shall not wish everyone a happy Patriot's Day, as that is not how I concieve it. It is, or should be, like Pearl Harbor Day, a day of national humiliation and meditation. Confusion to our enemies!

3 years ago I woke up to my alarm clock telling me the second plane had struck. Went to work and watched it on the news for about a half hour, then went on my delivery route. I am glad you started this thread Ilander. I would have if no one else had.
I will never forget...

I'll never forget the day. I was at my school my freshman year, and I heard something about a building being bombed. Went to my next class and on live tv, I saw the second plane hit. I still get chills whenever I see footage of it. May the people of that day rest in peace.

Quite a few of us were here back in those days. It is Skywalker's infamous claim to fame that he started the thread about the first plane hitting the towers.
