Here's an idea for all the musicians out there? What songs can you play on your instrument. (I don't care what it is.)

I play the Adam's Song, Carousel, D*mmit and What's my age again. (All Blink 182.) House of the rising sun, Painted Black, (rolling stones.) Scars of Time Fishermans Horizon, Breezy, On the Other side of the mountain, (Hee hee ) Don't fear the reaper, Time of your life. (Green day.) Bad boys, (Puff Daddy) Smooth Criminal, (Michael Jackson or Alien Ant farm.) Heart, Hotel California, (Eagles I think.) Something from Everlast. (Don't kno what it's called.) something from guns and roses, and i'm currently learning Babe i'm going to leave you. (Led Zeppelin.) That's all I can remember. And as you can see I don't a lot of the band names.

On my guitar I can play lots of songs from Slayer and Metallica (too many to list them all here, plus I'd probably forget half of them, but a.o. Black Magic, Seasons In The Abyss and 213 by Slayer and Seek And Destroy, Whiplash and The Unforgiven by Metallica). Furthermore Come Cover Me (Nightwish) which is on my current band's repertoire (no, we didn't decide to cover the song because of its title ), Sweet Child Of Mine (GnR), Zombie Ritual (Death), The Trooper and Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden), Stairway To Heaven by Led Zep (doesn't every guitarist play this song?) and lots of others.

By the way, not to be rude or anything, but shouldn't this be in polls?

Red Blue Flare, most musicians that have been playing for awhile can play pretty much anything, so it's not really a valid question. I've been playing guitar for close to 13 years, and if I hear a song once or twice I can pick it up. It obviously can take longer for leads, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Yup just about every guitarist plays a little of Stairway to Heaven, but I didn't even know what it sounded like until today. A friend is letting me borrow her cd. (She's really good, take my word for it.)

I don't think it should... I'm not asking them what their favorite is or anything. I'm just asking for a list.

I see what you're saying, but not i'm pretty sure not everyone here has been playing for 13 years. I've only been playing for one, so I'm not going to pick up a song the first two times. Maybe after five or so. Good point though.

Why do I suddenly feel so old...?

I went into a great regional store for used CDs and LPs a few months back. Two mid-teen nymphs were hanging around, cracking gum and shooting the breeze.

"What are, like, LPs?" asked one.

"My mom gave me a whole bunch of 'em last year, and a funny machine to play 'em on," the other replied.

"What do they sound like?"

"Dunno. They're all grungy and flat like, and they hold about thirty minutes on each side."

"Ewwww! Ick!"

At that point, I fled.

I Play Sax, So There's Not Many Popular Songs That Suit It, But If I Find One I Sure As Hell Play It! I Always Try And Play Less Than Jake, And Can Play "Everything Sucks" By Reel Big Fish. But Hey, Tell Me A Song And I'll Play It. I Have A Talent For Working The Notes Out From Scratch (Not To Be Big Headed Or Nothing )
